Digicom Hosts Sustainable Business Alliance Green Electronics Event
Event to be held October 29, 2013, 5:30-8:00 PM, Digicom Electronics, Oakland, CA
October 8, 2013 – Digicom Electronics, Inc., a technology and quality driven electronics manufacturing services company, announces that it is hosting a special Sustainable Business Alliance “Green Electronics” event on Tuesday evening, October 29, 2013. The guest speaker will be Dara O’Rourke, environmental scientist, professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and the founder of GoodGuide, an online consumer tool for retrieving information about the supply chain of electronics and other consumer products. He will be interviewed by Andy Fyfe, associate, community development, of B Lab. The program includes a tour of Digicom Electronics, an electronics manufacturing services facility in Oakland, CA with resource-efficient processes.
“Digicom Electronics is truly an electronics contract manufacturer that walks the talk for local manufacturing and environmental efficiency,” said Lisa Martinengo, event planner, SBA. “We are excited to be able to feature Dara O’Rourke and combine it with a tour of a facility that shows how sustainability practices can be integrated into an electronics manufacturing company.”
Also present at the event will be Sustainability in Electronics award winner Pamela Gordon, president of Technology Forecasters Inc. and author of Lean and Green. Technology Forecasters helps executives reduce costs, improve supply-chain efficiencies, and design and produce more sustainable products.
