Kaynes Circuits to set up Rs 4,995-crore electronic components unit in Tamil Nadu

Kaynes Circuits to Launch ₹4,995 Crore Advanced PCB Manufacturing Unit in Thoothukudi

Kaynes Circuits India, a subsidiary of Kaynes Technology, today inked a MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest ₹4,995 crore over six years in Thoothukudi. This new venture—Tamil Nadu’s first-ever large-scale printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing plant—will produce advanced components such as 74-layer, HDI and flexible PCBs, high-performance laminates, camera modules, and wire harness assemblies.

The state-of-the-art facility is expected to generate nearly 4,700 direct jobs, positioning Thoothukudi as a future tech-manufacturing hub. Following the announcement, Kaynes Technology shares rallied over 3.5% on the BSE, underscoring strong market confidence.

This development aligns seamlessly with India’s electronics push, empowering domestic component production and reducing reliance on imports, while strengthening Tamil Nadu’s role in the global electronics value chain.
